Information Overload? Nope, it’s Something Else
Anytime I have stacks of things to do and can’t figure out what to concentrate on, I think back to what my granddaddy used to say: “Son, you can’t do everything first.” At that point, it’s time for me to lay down about 80% of those tasks and deal only with the 20% that counts.
Fact is, if you’re keeping all those balls up in the air at once, you’re not running a business, you’re throwing doo at the walls and hoping something will stick.
Despite all the millions of words written about information overload, there isn’t any such thing.
What’s really happening is, you’re either unable or unwilling to decide what to concentrate on. So just do this – start making decisions, start weeding out the busywork that won’t ever take you where you want to go. Do this and the so-called “information overload” simply evaporates, and your life becomes filled with peace.
Naturally, I found this out the hard way.
